April 2008 - Training course for female DJ’s, Banja Luka

Once upon time in Banja Luka, acctualy, 16th of april in „Dom Omladine“ was a special day for ladies to see how it feels like to be behind turntables and make people scream. Thanks to „Uruk“ organisation this was all posible.
Leaders of this project were Dj. Wodie from Banja Luka and female Dj. Rea from Zagreb.
Girls had 4 days to learn the primary stuff about dj-ing and beauty of mixing on cd players and turntables. They also had a chance to see movie projections about some mixing skills and famous djs, such as „Hi tech soul-rising of Techno“, „It's all gone, Pete Tong“, „Scratch“, „Dmc Championship“... This wasn't just a dj workshop, it was also a 4 days lasting party, because whille learning about things they like, they all had a great time.
On the very first day of dj workshop, as first who break the ice, and as first who went behind turntables was Alexandra Sanchanin from Rijeka - Croatia. Few hours latter, it was a positive mess. Tatjana Malic from Sarajevo (Travnik) - Bih, and Jelena Djilas from Belgrade – Serbia, stand back to back practecing on cd players in supervision of Dj Woodie.

Also, the one who didn't have any problem to begin for the first time to play music was Vanja Matic from Banja Luka. She was playing on cd players too, and showed how it's supossed to sound if you wanna make people jump. First day of workshop end just fine. Second day was no longer stressing, so thay played for long 4 fours, wishing that end will never come.

The rest of the girls Djurdjica Bjelosevic, Dragana Andjelic, Maja Zolak and  Marika, enjoyed the experimenting  bouth of access. After every day of movie projection, they went on their posisions and the beat went on. On day four, we arange party so that girls can really play in front of odience, and show their skills. That was a bit of problem, because there were a lot of people. Crowd was quiete moved by their feet, and it was hell of a nigh so  no one felt any fear.

We hope there wll be djworkshop more often this year, and next and next....

Space is filling with people and she's still rocking!
